The Speaker waived the Transportation Committee referral for the               
following at the request of Representative Masek, Chair:                       
                                                                               
HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 8                                             
Urging the Alaska Railroad Corporation to select an Alaska                    
company for the design and construction of three rail barges and               
the charter and operation of tugboats for service between Seattle              
and Alaska as indicated in the Request for Proposal 99-13-18685.               
                                                                               
HCR 8 was removed from the Transportation Committee and referred               
to the Rules Committee for placement on the calendar.
